The Inspection and Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture issued a withdrawal of approximately 29,541 pounds from the beef brand ready to eat on Wednesday after discovering metal in the product.
The USDA announced the news after being notified by the Idaho Smokehouse Partners manufacturer that “they received two complaints from consumers who reported that metal parts were found in the product.”
The products that are being withdrawn are packages of 1.15 oz seamed in the void of “original beef stick lave chomps” produced on January 13.
The affected product also lists the 6220A establishment number in the packaging. The articles were sent to retail locations in California and Illinois.

There have been no confirmed reports of injuries due to consumption, according to USDA. Those concerned about an injury due to consumption must contact a medical care provider.
The USDA urges consumers who may have bought these products not to consume them. Contaminated products must be eliminated or returned to the place of purchase.
