An American Democratic legislator, Senator Cory Booker, destroyed a record in the history of the longest Senate in the history of the Senate on Tuesday, standing for more than 25 hours to deliver a burning protest against the “unconstitutional” actions of President Donald Trump.

“That the longest speech in our great floor of the Senate was someone who tried to prevent people like me from being in the Senate.”
The public galleries of the Senate Chamber were gradually filled when the moment was approaching the registration, with more democratic legislators who joined the session, although the Republicans remained largely remote.
“This is a moral moment. It is not left or right. It is right or wrong,” Booker said as he ended.
He also cited his mentor John Lewis, a leader of the civil rights movement of the 1960s, who urged activists to get into “good problems”, before pronouncing “Mrs. President, gave the floor.”
The New Jersey native of 55 had found a moment for a little humor when the album passed, joking: “I want to go a little beyond this and then I will deal with some of the biological emergencies that I am feeling.”
‘Fundamentals of Democracy’
Although Booker’s conversation was not blocking the majority Republican party to have votes in the Senate, as would be the case in a true filibuster, his challenge quickly became a meeting point for the besieged democrats.
Booker, former presidential candidate, seized the command on the camera at 7pm on Monday (4 am pkt, Tuesday) and ended at 8:05 pm on Tuesday (5:05 am Pkt).
He highlighted Radical Cost reduction policies from Trump who have seen his main advisor Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, reduce complete government programs without the consent of Congress.
The senator said that Trump’s aggressive seizure of the Executive Power had increasingly put the democracy of the United States at risk.
“Unnecessary difficulties are in charge of Americans of all origins and institutions that are special in the United States, which are beautiful and that are unique in our country, are being recklessly, and I would say that even unconstitutionally, affected, attacked, deactivated,” Booker said.
“In just 71 days, the president of the United States has inflicted so much damage to the safety of Americans, financial stability, the main foundations of our democracy,” he said.
But he had words of encouragement for Trump’s opponents, saying that he concluded that “people’s power is greater than people in power.”
Cramps and throat pain
Later, Booker came into details about how he resisted the physical demands of the speech.
“My strategy was to stop eating. I think I stopped eating on Friday and then stop drinking the night before starting on Monday,” he told the journalists in the Capitol.
The approach “had its benefits and really had its disadvantages … different muscle groups really begin to cramps” with dehydration, he added.
In a statement sent by his office, Booker added that he was “tired and a little hoarse.”
Democratic legislators, in the minority both in the Senate and in the House of Representatives, have fought how Rigraures of Trump’s efforts to reduce the government, increase deportations and destroy many of the country’s political norms.
“I just want to thank you for celebrating a vigil for this country all night,” said Senator Raphael Warnock to Booker on the floor.
Booker dedicated much of his speech to criticize Trump’s policies, but to spend time, he also recited poetry, discussed sports and entertained colleagues.
“If you love your neighbor, if you love this country, they show your love. Stop doing what they are trying [do]”, Said.
