Ukraine says received another 1,200 bodies from Russia – World

Ukraine said Sunday that he had received another transfer of 1,200 bodies of Russia as part of an exchange agreement reached in the Istanbul conversations earlier this month.

“Other 1,200 bodies that the Russian side affirms belongs to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel, were returned to Ukraine,” wrote kyiv’s headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war on social networks.

“In total, 4,812 bodies have been returned this week,” said Ukraine Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, on Facebook. “I am grateful to all those involved in this humanitarian mission,” he said.

Ukraine has not said if he has transferred any body to the Russian side.

The two parties agreed a large -scale exchange of prisoners and bodies of dead soldiers during their last round of direct conversations in Istanbul on June 2.

Both Russia and Ukraine generally do not reveal their military losses.
