The United States Coast Guard is looking for a person after a small plane where they were crashed in Monterey, California, Saturday night.
The Coast Guard received a notification around 10:55 pm that a double motor Beechcraft with three people on board crashed approximately 300 yards from the Point Pinos lighthouse from the Pacific coast. The plane originally took off from the San Carlos Airport in San Mateo County.
“Station Monterey launched a crew of the 29 -foot response boat, which reached the scene approximately 15 minutes after the notification,” said the Coast Guard in a press release. “The guards in the San Francisco Coast Guard sector also coordinated the launch of a Dolphin helicopter air station of San Francisco San Francisco MH-65”.
Two of the three people were found “not answered,” said the Coast Guard, without specifying the meaning of not responding in this case.
The search continues for the remaining person, said the Coast Guard. Local agencies, including the Pacific Grove Police Department, the Monterey Fire Department and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, are helping in the search.
“Currently this is an active investigation, so we are not releasing information at this time,” said Pacific Grove Police A NBC News.
The National Transportation Board is investigating the cause of the accident. He did not respond immediately to a request for comments.
