Gilgit: Two girls were killed when a wall collapsed due to the flashing rains in Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday, which also triggered land landslides that block the Karakoram road (KKH) and Baltistan Road in multiple points, while the flights between Islamabad, Skardu and Gilgit remained suspended for a second day of achievement.

According to the police, two sisters, eight and nine, residents of Juglet de Pedandas in Gilgit, died when the wall of a compound collapsed after heavy rains on Saturday. The two girls were injured and moved to the Shaheed Saifur Rehman hospital in Gilgit, where both succumbed to the injuries.

The interruption has cut the four districts of Baltistan from the rest of the region, which extended to thousands of passengers, including foreign tourists, on both sides of the road.
Due to the prevailing climatic conditions, all flights between Islamabad, Skardu and Gilgit remained suspended for the second consecutive day. The rain also interrupted the supply of electricity in several areas, while mobile connectivity and the Internet have been informed in many places.
Meanwhile, the upper parts of the region, including the district of Astore, received snowfall, worsening more conditions. The rock falls and landslides also blocked several link paths, particularly in the Kharmang district.
