The driver and guard of a suspect were arrested by the police on Monday after a citizen’s video was assaulted in the Karachi DHA went viral on social networks.
A person traveling in a luxury car assaulted a citizen in Khayaban -i -ittehad in DH and can be seen in multiple videos of the incident on social networks.
According to the deputy inspector of the Sindh Police, Karachi South Syed Asad Raza, “the police arrested the driver and security guard of the person who assaulted the citizen and seized the accused’s vehicle.”
He added that the person involved in the assault has been identified and that the suspect is not a government employee.
“The suspect’s office and house were also raided late at night to arrest it,” said Dig Raza.
He said that the police are taking this matter very seriously and that a first information report against the suspect and his other accomplices is being recorded.
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister of Sindh, Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, realized the incident and said: “No one is allowed to take the law in their own hands.”
He addressed the police officers worried to submit a report on the incident and said: “A complete investigation of the incident must be carried out and a report must be submitted.”
Lanjar continued that “legal measures must be taken against those involved in violence.”
According to the reports, in another incident of anger on the road in Lahore, the armed guards of a private security company fired a car rider in underground Dharam, they hit him and fled the scene, leaving a vehicle and some weapons in the place.
