‘National Afghan’
The security forces confirmed on Saturday that one of the three militants killed in a meeting in northern Waziristan was an Afghan national involved in multiple attacks.
The wing of the military media, public relations between services (ISPR), declared that the Afghan interim government had been contacted to take custody of the body.
On Friday, ISPR said that three militants dressed in Burka were shot dead in an intelligence -based operation in the Datta Khel area. The militants, disguised as Burkas, tried to escape when they were intercepted.
Later, one of them was identified as Luqman Khan aka Nusrat, son of Kamal Khan, from the district of Spera of the province of Khost of Afghanistan. The authorities said Nusrat had been involved in multiple militant attacks within Pakistan.
The ISPR statement described such incidents as “irrefutable evidence” of the participation of Afghan citizens in militant activities within Pakistan. The army urged the interim government to fulfill its obligations and avoid the use of Afghan territory for such acts.
