Washington – The special envoy Steve Witkoff and the United States ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee will travel to Gaza tomorrow, the White House announced, a significant movement as Israel continues to face a growing international pressure to allow greater help in the enclave.
“Tomorrow, the special envoy Witkoff and Ambassador Huckabee will travel to Gaza to inspect the current distribution sites and ensure a plan to deliver more food and meet with the local gazios to listen first hand about this serious situation on the ground,” said the White House Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, during the Informative Session of the Press on Thursday.
The trip occurs when a greater number of gazanes is dying of malnutrition, which leads more nations to ask Israel to address the humanitarian situation. Leavitt said that US officials would work for an additional food and help distribution.
“The special envoy and the ambassador will inform the president immediately after his visit to approve a final plan for the distribution of food and aid in the region, and we will provide more details to all of you once that plan is approved and agreed by the president of the United States,” he said during the informative session.
In recent days, President Donald Trump has intervened in the hunger crisis, saying: “We have to feed children.” He said there was “true starvation” in Gaza, comments that Vice President JD Vance resonated in Eco, who said the administration was “very concerned about the humanitarian problem in Gaza.”
The president also said earlier this week that the United States, together with international partners, would help finance and establish food centers in Gaza.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 120 people in Gaza have died from malnutrition since the beginning of the war.
