Trump says ‘I don’t know’ if must uphold US Constitution as president – World

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said in a television interview that is broadcast on Sunday that he does not know if he must defend the constitution of the United States.

He also said he is not considering seriously run for a third period of the White House, after publicly reflecting on a clearly prohibited idea by the Founding Legal Document.

“I don’t know,” Trump replied when the host of NBC news The ‘meet the press’ program, Kristen Welker, asked directly if he thinks he needs to maintain the supreme law of the earth.

When asked specifically if citizens and not US citizens deserve due law process, as the United States constitution says, Trump said: “I am not a lawyer. I don’t know.”

The president’s aggressive movements to deport undocumented migrants, some without the benefit of a judicial hearing, have generated generalized criticism, but Trump insists that it is necessary in the face of what he has declared as a “national emergency.”

The suggestion of seeking a third term in office has been sharply questioned by legal and constitutional scholars.

The amendment 22 to the Constitution establishes that “no person will be chosen for the president’s office more than twice.”

But Trump said in March that “he was not joking” about looking for a third mandate, and added without elaborating that there are “methods” that would allow it to happen.

Changing the Constitution to allow a third mandate would be a great boost, requiring a two -thirds majority in both Congress and ratification for at least 38 of the 50 state legislatures of the United States.

But “this is not something to do,” Trump told NBC Welker, adding: “I am looking to be four years old and deliver it to someone, ideally a great Republican, a great Republican to carry it forward.”

When asked who could be, he mentioned Vice President JD Vance, calling him a “fantastic and brilliant type”, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, while adding that “we have many good people at this party.”
