Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed on Tuesday a proposal from the president of the United States, Donald Trump, that Russia and Ukraine stop attacking the energy infrastructure of the other for 30 days, Kremlin said after a long telephone discussion among leaders.
The two countries plan to start the “immediately” negotiations in the Middle East in a high sea fire in the Black Sea, according to a reading of the White House.
“The leaders agreed that the movement to La Paz will begin with a high the fire of energy and infrastructure, as well as technical negotiations on the implementation of a high sea fire in the Black Sea, the high fire and permanent peace,” said the reading of the White House.
Trump had been pressing Putin to accept a high 30 -day fire backed by the United States that Ukraine has already accepted as part of a movement towards a permanent peace agreement to put an end to the greatest conflict in Europe since World War II. The war has killed or wounded hundreds of thousands of people, displaced millions and has reduced entire cities to debris.
Putin, whose forces invaded Ukraine in February 2022, said last week that he supported Washington’s proposal for a truce, but that his forces would fight until several crucial conditions were resolved.
