A pair of Republicans backed by Trump easily won a couple of special primaries from the House of Representatives on Tuesday in Florida, establishing them to fill two deep vacancies and reds and fill in the thin majority of the house of the party.
Associated Press projected the primaries in the sixth district of Florida for state senator Randy Fine .
The state financial director, Jimmy Patronis, had more than two thirds of support in the Republican primaries in the first district of Florida when Associated Press called his career shortly after 8 pm
Well and Patronis annulled not only President Donald Trump but also of the Republican leaders of the House of Representatives, since they sought to happen to former representatives Mike Waltz and Matt Gaetz.
Waltz resigned from the camera earlier this month to become Trump’s national security advisor, while Gaetz resigned from the camera last year after Trump chose him to be the attorney general. But Gaetz left the race in the midst of accusations of inappropriate sexual behavior and drug use.
Later, the Chamber Ethics Committee published a report that indicated that there was “determined that there is substantial evidence that the representative Gaetz violated the rules of the Chamber and other standards of conduct that prohibit prostitution, legal violation, use the use Illicit of drugs, inadmissible gifts, favorites or special privileges of favorites and the obstruction of Congress obstruction. ” Gaetz denied the accusations
Both Bine and Gaetz will be strong favorites against the nominees Democrats in the special general elections, after both districts were republican for more than 30 points in 2024.
But the Republicans of the House of Representatives will still have the special elections of April 1 around their calendars, since adding additional members will give them a little more space to breathe in a very divided camera.
After the resignations of Waltz and former representative Matt Gaetz, the Republican party has an advantage of 218-215 in the Chamber, which means that only two defections could sink a bill with each vote of the members.
