The Karachi Traffic Police (KTP) said on Sunday that a repression against the Dumpers (loaded trucks) was launched as a video of one of its drivers, which violated the traffic rules in Sharea Faisal, became viral on social networks, which caused the higher authorities to realize.
The city has recently witnessed an increase in traffic accidents, especially that they involve heavy vehicles, including Dumpers and water oil tankers, which killed almost 500 people and the injured 4.879 were in 2024, according to hospital data.
On Wednesday night, a total of nine dumperadores and oil tankers were burned in angry mobs in Karachi, near the main road, which led Chowrangi 4 k after a heavy vehicle hit a bicycle rider, wounding it in the area of northern Karachi.
In February, the Sindh government replaced the KTP head. Meanwhile, the additional police inspector of Karachi (AIGP) Javed Alam Odho formed the Karachi road accident analysis team (KRAAT) last month to analyze the causality of the increase in accidents in the city and present a detailed report to the authorities.
According to a statement issued by the KTP today, the Traffic Police launched a repression against the Dumpers.
The Traffic Police took this action against a Dumpers association that did not give the driver despite having promised before, according to the statement.
The video shared by the authorities showed that the Dumper wore gravel and allegedly violated the traffic laws in Sharea Faisal.
When the traffic police that patrol in the area told him to stop, the driver did not stop and fled.

The Traffic Police realized, ordering all Dumpers associations to give them the drivers to face legal actions.
According to the statement, the president of the Dutumantes Association, Liaquat Mehsud and others, have sought some time in this regard, but later, they sold out of their promise and did not give the driver and the dumper to the police.
As a result, on Saturday night, the Police launched a “mass repression”, imposed fines (Chalan) against 142 Dumpers and confiscated another 27 Dumpers, while a driver was also arrested, against whom a first investigation report was recorded under sections 99 and 113 of the Motorized Vehicle Ordinance of 1965.
