Toronto teacher under investigation after allegedly showing video related to Charlie Kirk shooting: TDSB

A teacher of a Toronto school has been temporarily relieved of his duties after students allegedly shows students “a part of a violent video” related to the death of right -wing commentator Charlie Kirk.

The incident occurred at Corvette Junior Public School on Thursday, says a letter sent to the parents of director Jennifer Koptie.

Students of degrees 5 and 6 were shown the video once after asking the teacher about “a recent tragic event in the United States,” Kopie said. The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) confirmed to CBC that the video was related to Kirk’s death.

“While an investigation must still be carried out to know all the details, the report of this incident is extremely worrying and completely unacceptable,” Koptie said in the letter sent on Friday.

The teacher has been “relieved of all teaching responsibilities” while an investigation is being carried out, said Koptie’s letter, added that they will not be in school either.

His letter says that the teacher was supervising the class and is not the classroom teacher.

“Our highest priority is to support students,” said Kaptie, added that a member of the school’s social work team was available for students to consult with them and provide support. .

Kirk, a right -wing activist from US President Donald Trump, was a deadly shot in OREM, Utah, Wednesday while talking before an outdoor meeting.
