At least 3 deaths related to storms reported in Arkansas
At least 3 people were killed after a storm system moved by Arkansas during the night, according to the Arkansas emergency management division (in addition).
The authorities said that all the deaths were in Independence County, in northern Arkansas, but did not include any detail about how they were killed. They added that 29 additional people were injured in eight counties.
The number of victims “are preliminary and subject to changes,” the division said in an update.
Until now, 16 counties have reported Damage to ADS, including Independence, Clark, Hot Spring, Nevada and Fulton.
“Most counties are still evaluating the total scope of the damage, but reports indicate impacts on households, companies and electric lines and fallen trees,” the division said.
10 deaths related to storms reported in Missouri
At least 10 people have been killed in Missouri as a result of the severe climate that has been affecting the state since yesterday, according to the Missouri state road patrol.
Six of the deaths were in Wayne County, while two were in Ozark County, MSHP said in X. A person was killed in Butler County and another was killed in Jefferson County.
“We urge residents to stay away from areas full of debris, observe the falling lines and follow regional emergency services for localized updates,” the patrol warned.
Non -unusual extreme weather
Experts say it is not unusual to see such climatic extremes in March.
“The only thing about this is its large size and intensity,” said Bill Bunting of the National Meteorological Service Storms Center in Norman, Oklahoma. “And so, what is doing is to produce really substantial impacts in a very large area.”
The blinding winds cause three fatal clashes in Texas, stir forest fires
Yesterday there were three fatal accidents in the yellow area due to strong winds and low visibility, said Texas Public Security Sergeant. Cindy Barkley. The exact number of deaths in those accidents was not clear immediately.
At least one person died and two were injured in an accident between three semifinals and four other vehicles in Palmer County, said Cesar Márquez, city administrator and firefighters in bovine. It was not clear if the accident was included in all three in the yellow area.
There were “so much blow that we were surprised every time we approached something,” said Márquez.
Northern Texas parts saw gusts as strong as 62 mph, according to data from the National Meteorological Service.
Dust was not the only concern. The same system caused forest fires in Texas and Oklahoma on Friday when the low pressure system moved east.
The largest of the six active forest fires of the state, the wind mill fire in Roberts County, grew from 500 to 18,000 acres in less than a day, according to the Texas A&M forest service. The fire was in 50% contained Friday night.
