According to a technology analyst, artificial intelligence has continued to disrupt our lives and compromise online security.
In an interview with CTV News Channel on Wednesday, writer and technology expert Carmi Levy said the next big thing of 2025 is agent AI, a type of program that performs tasks for computers and smartphones, such as opening browsers and new tabs. , as well as downloading applications.
“It does all that heavy lifting for you, freeing you up to do other things,” Levy said. “Technology will increasingly do that for us. However, that means that certain jobs will have to evolve or disappear.”
While AI can help make life easier for humans, the technology brings a worrying trend. With cybercrime and ransomware attacks set to reach what Levy calls a “scary level” in 2024, he expects the problem to persist this year. He said cybercriminals are using AI to launch more sophisticated attacks, targeting more victims.
“They are increasingly using AI to cast a wider net and carry out more devastating attacks,” he said.
At the same time, AI is used to protect users, he added.
