Oklahoma City-El Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Memphis Grizzlies 131-80 in game 1 of his playoff series of the west conference of the first round on Sunday, the fifth margin of victory in the history of the Postseason of the NBA.
The margin of 51 points was seven points from the record and was the biggest victory of game 1 in the history of the NBA playoffs.
Jalen Williams scored 20 points and Chet Holmgren had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the league score champion with almost 33 points per game, scored only 15. The Thunder still shot 50.5% from the field.
Oklahoma City, who finished the regular season with a better record of the 68-14 League, seemed the part of a general seed number 1.
There have been two 58-point playoff margins in the NBA history: Denver beat New Orleans 121-63 in 2009 and the Minneapolis Lakers beat the St. Louis Hawks 133-75 in 1956.
Ja Morant scored 17 points for Memphis in just 6 of 17 shots. Jaren Jackson Jr., who averaged just over 22 points in the regular season, scored four points in 2 of 13 shots. Marvin Bagley III also scored 17, but the Grizzlies fired only 34.4% in general.
This was Memphis’s first playoff game under the interim coach Tuomas Iisalo. He trained only nine regular NBA season games before the game games.
The Los Angeles Lakers beat Golden State for 56 (126-70) in 1973 and the Chicago Bulls beat the Milwaukee Bucks for 54 (120-66) in 2015. And now, a set of 51 points, where the Thunder was well in hand to the beginning of the second quarter. They took an advantage of 35 points in the part -time.
