Three drown in canal in KP’s Malakand: Rescue 1122 – Pakistan

On Thursday, three people drowned in a channel in the Malakand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while a body was discovered in a river in Upper dir in a separate incident, rescue officials said.

Rescue 1122 Nasar Khan official said Dawn.com That four people, including a minor, bathed in the channel to cool off in the middle of intense heat.

“The four people were recovered from the channel by divers, but three of them had drowned,” said Nasar. “A person was still alive and we transported him to Tehsil’s Hospital in Dargai.”

The official added that local residents helped rescuers recover the bodies of the victims.

Rescue 1122 Malakand identified the deceased as Alamzeb, 32, Mohammad Bilal, 26, and Arman Khan, 6, while the survivor was identified as Salman Khan, 17.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Ibrahim Khan, a 1122 rescue spokesman at the top of the directory, he said Dawn.com that rescuers recovered the body of a seminary student who drowned in a river in the district’s Gandigar area.

“The student disappeared three days ago,” Ibrahim said. “Rescue teams and civil defense staff participated in a search operation.”

The student was identified as Mohammad Hilal Khan.

In April, two younger sisters drowned in the Indo River at the Bisham Tehsil of the Shangla district, according to officials.

Bisham Station House Officer (SHO) Khurshid Ali said Dawn.com That the children had gone to the river to play on the riverbank, where the strong current ended up drowning them.

Sho Ali said that the age of girls, as told by his relatives, were seven and nine years old.
