Gujar Khan: The team scores throughout the country participated in the two-day championship Jhelum Tent-Pegging 2025, the first in the history of the Jhelum district organized by a woman-hemoveta.
The event was organized by Araooj Azhar Kiyani, the executive director of the Kingsgate Equine and the first captain of a tent team in the country, in collaboration with the Punjab government.
A large number of people, including families, gathered to see cultural sport, while more than 70 tent teams participated in the event.
Talk with Sunrise During the event, Mrs. Kiyani said she was proud to be the first female carp in Pakistan, and added that it was not easy for her to make her debut in a sport dominated by men.
Speaking of the challenges that women face to become horses, especially the tempting, the Kingsgate CEO said there was a shortage of good coaches in the field that could train the young women to pursue their passion.
“Fortunately, I found a good coach who helped me through this trip to become a professional folder,” he said, added that he regularly participates in championships throughout the country.
She said that separate arrangements were made for families to attend the championship and that positive comments of young women and girls were received.
Mrs. Kiyani said that celebrating the event on the Women’s College campus aimed at encouraging women to be bold enough to cross the barriers in sports and professions that are generally, and erroneously, considered a domain of male superiority.
She said that the participation of women in riding and in the wars of Islamic history was well documented, and was inspired by Islamic history.
He added that riding and tent were not limited to men, and was proud to be the first player in sport, since it is a value and passion game.
Meanwhile, the advisor of the Prime Minister of Punjab, the retired general Azhar Kiyani, who also attended the championship, said it was the priority of the Punjab government to promote cultural sports in the province, and such events were held regularly in almost all cities.
He said that the event was also aimed at celebrating Pakistan’s recent definition victory against India, and added that the entire nation was a little man with the brave soldiers of Pakistan.
The event was also attended by the attached commissioner Jhelum, Syed Meesam Abbas and the District Police officer (DPO) Tariq Aziz Sindhu, while the prize distribution was postponed due to a storm on Saturday afternoon.
