Tear gas, water cannon employed to disperse BYC protesters – Pakistan

Quetta: The Police used on Friday the tear gas canyon and the water canyon and fired in white to disperse the protesters of the Balochjehti (Byc) committee that had staged a sitting on the Sariab road, near the University of Baluchistan, against some arrests, including their leaders.

There were contradictory reports about victims, with sources from the Bolan Medical College that said two bodies were brought there while an agency and nine injured, including a police, were received at the Civil Hospital.

For his part, the BYC chief organizer, Dr. Mahrang Baloch, said that three people were killed and another 13 were injured during the police action while protested against the arrest of the leader of Byc Batog Baloch, his brother, doctor of the Faculty of Medicine Bolan, his son and his son -in -law a few days ago.

A Baluchistan government spokesman in a statement issued at the end of the night said the police took measures, according to the law, to open the way. He said that the protesters threw the police with stones and beaten them, leaving 10 personnel, including a police woman, injured.

Byc workers had organized the protest demonstration on the Sariab road with banners and posters. They sang slogans against the arrest of Bebarg Baloch and others.

Later, the protesters arrived to Munir Mengal Road and organized a sitting camp. However, a heavy police contingent charged them and used water cannons to dismantle the sitting and disperse camp. The police also shot in white.

According to the Bolan Medical College hospital, two bodies were brought there from the Sariab Road area. The bodies were later taken by the heirs.

The authorities of the Provincial Civil Hospital Quetta said that a body and nine personnel of the injured police, including an agent agent, were taken to the health center.

Other sources previously stated that byc workers had taken three bodies with them and organized a seated in the Road Munir Mengal. The demonstration was approached by BYC leaders, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch. The traffic remained suspended in Sariab Road.

The Byc in a statement said three people were killed and many other injuries in the police.

The Byc asked for a closing call and Wheel Strike Jam in terms of the province for Saturday (today).

Baluchistan government spokesman Shahid Rind, in a statement, confirmed that nine police personnel were injured during the stone fight.

He said that the byc was protesting with the bodies has not yet been determined. The reason for killing three people could not be determined until medical-legal procedures were completed in the hospital, he said.

He said that no one would be allowed to take the law in his own hands. “The Government could not sit the silent viewer if someone created a situation of law and order and would fulfill their responsibilities for the protection of people’s life and property,” said Rind.
