Swati Maliwal writes to Kejriwal, demands Dalit LoP in Delhi assembly


New Delhi: MP Rajya Sabha Swati Maliwal On Wednesday he wrote to Coordinator AAM AADMI Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal, urging him to name a MLA of the Dalit community as the Opposition leader (LOP) in the Delhi Assembly. She said this movement would be a step to fulfill AAP’s commitment to social justice.
Maliwal, in his letter, reminded Kejriwal his electoral promise of 2022 Punjab to appoint a main vice minister of Dalit, a promise that was not fulfilled. “Three years ago, Kejriwal had promised in Punjab that a Vice Minister of Dalit will make, but that promise has not been fulfilled to date. I hope this time makes a real tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar respected by doing a Dalit Mla From Delhi the Lop, ”Maliwal published in X while sharing a screenshot of his letter.

In addition, he declared that appointing a Dalit MLA for the position would be more than a political decision. “Appointing a Dalit MLA as LOP is not only a political decision, but a strong step towards adhesion to our central values,” he wrote in his letter.
Maliwal’s appeal occurs when AAP Lidia with an important electoral setback. The party, which ruled Delhi for a decade, suffered a strong defeat in the recent elections of the Assembly, ensuring only 22 seats. Several upper leaders, including Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain and Saurabh Bharadwaj, lost in their respective circumscriptions, racing the way for the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party to return to power in the capital.
