Swabi’s police arrested a Tiktoker who was supposedly doing videos while dressed as a girl and uploaded them to his account to “deceive people, especially young people,” said police officers on Sunday.
Swabi Deputy Police Superintendent (DSP) IJAZ ABAN Dawn.com that the Tiktoker was filming videos while dressing as a woman and “surprising controversial poses.”
“There was severe resentment and anxiety among society,” said Sho Amin. “Aamir Khan, in charge of Bamkhel’s advanced position, tracked the Tiktoker, and the police have taken immediate measures and arrested the suspect, a resident of Bamkhel.”
There has been a first information report (FIR) against the Tiktoker at the Swabi City Police Station, available with Dawn.com – affirming that the police learned that he was doing videos performing obscene acts on social networks, “that he had a very bad impact on society.”
The FIR was recorded under section 294 of the Pakistan Criminal Code, which “makes it a crime to commit any obscene or singing, reciting or absolute obscene songs, ballads or words in or near a public place for the discomfort of others, punishable with the imprisonment of up to three months, a fine or both.”
After being arrested, the suspect confessed the crime and promised to refrain from such immoral activities in the future.
The Tiktoker said in a video recorded by the Police: “I belong to Jafarkhail, a Mohallah of the Bamkhel village. I was making videos and uploading to my Tiktok account. I will not make such videos in the future.”
Sho Amin said that the creator of content had been presented in a local court and “would face the law of the land.”
