A group of men arrested after a robbery in December at the House of the Marshal of the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow, took a selfie with the stolen items, according to an FBI agent who supervises the case.
The three men, all of Chile, are accused of breaking into the rear entrance of the Hamilton County House, while the Burrow Security team was in the middle of the changing changes, charging documents presented by the FBI state . While the security team was in front of the house, the suspects sneaked in the back, according to the documents.
An associate of the owner reported the theft around 8:14 pm on December 9 after seeing the disorder and a broken window, said the federal prosecutor’s office.
The three suspects were identified as Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sánchez, 22, Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales, 23, and Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello, 38. They were arrested in Ohio for state charges in January.
A Federal Grand Jury accused them on Wednesday for charges of transporting stolen goods through state lines and registrations for federal investigation.
It is believed that they are part of a transnational criminal organization, according to the Department of Justice. A fourth man was arrested and faces state charges.
A selfie taken by three of the suspects shows them supposedly using some of the stolen items.
According to the FBI, the men were in the United States without authorization and entered the country illegally or exceeded their visas. It is not clear if they have obtained lawyers.
Burrow was in a game in Dallas at that time, taking the Bengals to a 27-20 victory over the cowboys. He said at a press conference on December 11 that his “privacy has been raped.”
An affidavit says that more than $ 300,000 in luggage, jewelry, watches and vessels were stolen from Burrow’s house. A trail chamber caught a person who transported luggage near the house, and nearby registration readers led the authorities to identify a Volkswagen Atlas 2024 SUV.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in Florida, according to the FBI. The researchers learned that Cabello had rented the SUV with a false identification. Using cell phone data, the researchers were taken to a motel in Fairborn, Ohio.
The three suspects were arrested by the road patrol of the state of Ohio after the vehicle in which they were illegally crossed lanes. Cabello supposedly tried to delete some of the photos, including one that shows the back of Burrow’s house, while they were being arrested. The researchers were able to recover images that show some of the stolen articles of the house.
Kenneth Parker, the US prosecutor of the South District of Ohio, said the investigation is still ongoing.
“These people seem to be the alleged tip of the iceberg of the South America robbery groups that commit crimes throughout our district and elsewhere,” he said in a statement.
