Sinner beats Djokovic to set up final against defending champion Alcaraz

Jannik Sinner, better classified, defeated Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 (3) on Friday to establish a final of the France Open against Defense champion Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic is the Men’s record 24 times Grand Slam champion, but could not counteract the relentless precision of Sinner and hit right-wing in the Philippe-Chaatrier court.

Sinner became the second Italian man to reach the final in Roland-Garros after Adriano Panatta, the 1976 champion.

Previously, Alcaraz led 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-0, 2-0 against Lorenzo Musetti when the eighth Italian retired with a leg injury.

Sinner points to his fourth important title, Alcaraz his fifth.
