Nueva Delhi: Jammu and Kashmira’s prime minister, Omar Abdullah, looked for a report on the fashion show at Gulmarg’s ski resort during the month of fasting of Ramzan who received generalized criticisms.
Expressing disapproval of the images, the CM said that the images he had seen showed complete contempt for local sensibilities.
Responding to the position of the chief priest of Kashmir Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who called the “obscene” fashion parade, Omar Abdullah said: “The shock and anger are totally understandable. The images that I have seen show a complete contempt for local sensibilities and that also during this sacred month. My office has been in contact with the local authorities and I have seen a report to be presented within the next 24 hours.

The Mirwaiz expressed his views on X, stating: “Scandalous! That in the sacred month of Ramzan an obscene fashion parade in #Gulmarg, images and videos of which have become viral that shock and anger among people is organized.
Demanded the responsibility of the organizers of the event.
“Those involved must be immediately responsible. Such an obscenity in the name of the promotion of tourism will not be tolerated in #kashmir!” Mirwaiz added.
The social activist Raja Muzaffar Bhat criticized the event in X, questioning the authorities: “Who allowed this naked fashion parade in Gulmarg in Holy Ramzan? Semi -naked men and women walking on the snow.

After the controversy, Shivan and Naresh apologized and said that his only intention was to celebrate the creativity and lifestyle of Ski & Après-Ski.

“Respect for all cultures and traditions is in our hearts, and we recognize the concerns raised. We sincerely apologize for any involuntary discomfort and appreciate the comments of our community. We continue to be committed to being more conscious and respectful,” the brand said in an X.
