Islamabad: Opposition leader in the Senate Sibli Faraz has requested the president of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi who orders a scrutiny of the procedural conduct of all the ongoing judgments on May 9 for adherence to constitutional mandates and the principles of natural justice.
In a two -page letter addressed to the CJP, the opposition leader asked the CJP to consider limiting the sessions of the Court of First Instance to reasonable hours to avoid the spontaneous abortion of justice induced by fatigue and safeguard the right of the accused to involve the lawyer of their election without imposition.
This is the second letter written in a row to the upper trial, after the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub Khan, wrote a four -page letter on accusations of police and fiscal misconduct in the evidence already completed on May 9.
Mr. Faraz asked the CJP to facilitate access to the media without obstacles and public transparency for these procedures, and initiate an impartial investigation into the accusations of police and fiscal police.
The letter asked CJP to reevaluara and, when appropriate, reopen the cases concluding in questionable circumstances and preservation of the democratic tissue of Pakistan and the rule of law depends on its intervention of principles.
Omar Ayub refuses to meet CJP
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub Khan, refused to meet with the CJP at the Supreme Court facilities, or in Islamabad, citing the possibility of his arrest due to guarantees, which have been issued.
According to sources close to Mr. Ayub, an official of the Supreme Court contacted him and offered to organize a meeting with CJP Yahya Afridi.
However, Mr. Ayub told the Supreme Court official that, since they are out of arrest for their arrest, it cannot visit Islamabad and that the meeting cannot be held in the Federal Capital.
In response, the official offered a guarantee that no one will arrest him and suggested that he arrive at the Supreme Court for the meeting.
Mr. Omar told him that PTI’s leaders and workers were collected by the personnel of the intelligence agencies outside the courts several times, and rejected the offer.
The sources said Omar had suggested that the meeting be held at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but the SC official has not responded to this offer so far.
