Seven people were rescued while two disappeared after a boat sank on the Indo River, near Kohat, on Wednesday, according to the rescue 1122 officials.
A KP Rescue 1122 Billal Ahmad Faizi spokesman said: “A boat sank in Khushalgarh on the Indo River. Seven passengers were rescued with the help of local divers, while a search operation is underway to look for two missing people.”
The Kohat, Nowshera and Karak teams participate in the search operation, led by the emergency officer of the Kohat district, Arif Khattak, added Rescue 1122.
In early May, up to four people, including two brothers, drowned in the Indo River in two different incidents in Atock, had said police and rescue sources.
Last year, in April, eight people drowned when a boat overturned in the Indus river near Kund Park in the Nowshera district.
