The Serena Williams tennis legend is cleaning the air by speculating that its viral dance during the Super Bowl’s part -time show was throwing shadow against its ex, Drake.
During the mid -time show of Kendrick Lamar, Williams danced on a podium and Crip walked while Lamar acted “No Like Us”, his album against Drake.
In a new interview with “Time”, he insists that he was not deactivating Drake by joining the performance.
“Absolutely not,” he said. “I would never do that. And that was sad, someone thought that. I respect how they could. Obviously I can see how someone would think that. But absolutely not. I have never had negative feelings towards him. We have known him for many years.”
Her husband, Alexis Ohanian, had also closed that idea, writing on February 10 “some of you have no idea how criticized she was serene for this same dance in Wimbledon 13 years ago and shows himself … This is bigger than music.”
He was referring to how she performed that same dance in Wimbledon after winning gold at the 2012 London Olympic Games. A Walk crying is a dance movement that originated in the Los Angeles crypt gang.
Williams said that joining the performance was paying tribute to his hometown of Compton, where Lamar is also.
“Who would have thought that a Compton tennis player would be considered one of the best players of all time?” He said in an interview with Time. “I was just putting an exclamation.”
“I don’t know if I regret it or not,” he said about his decision to act. “I don’t know the answer to that.”
The star athlete explained that she was not worried about public perception in the Super Bowl, instead she and her husband were more concentrated in obtaining an autograph for her daughter of Taylor Swift, who was in the game that supported her boyfriend Travis Kelce of the heads of the city of Kansas.
“My husband and I, we are in a different space,” he said. “We are so connected, we are so in love that we are, as, trying to get autographs from his daughter Taylor Swift. And nothing more.”
“We are investing in women and sports,” she added, since her husband has a participation in the National League of Women’s Soccer Angel City FC and Williams has become part of the WNBA Toronto Tempo. “This is literally the latest in our minds. Let’s go.”
