The wing of the military media said on Wednesday that the security forces were “falsely involved” in an incident that took place in Mir Ali Tehsil of the Waziristan district of the north of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing four children.
“The initial findings have established that this atrocious act has been orchestrated and executed by Fitna al Khwarij“Public relations between services (ISPR) said in a statement, using the term used by the State to refer to Pakistan (TTP) prohibited Tehreek-i-Taliban.
The statement occurs after the premises organized a protest in the village of Hurmuz de Mir Ali on Monday against the murder of four children and a woman, supposedly for a strike of unmanned planes. A day before, the police said that the conversations with local elders on the matter were underway.
“After a tragic incident on May 19, 2025, in the general area of Mir Ali, District of Waziristan del Norte, which unfortunately resulted in civilians, have circulated unfounded and deceptive accusations by certain sectors, which falsely implies Pakistan’s security forces,” said the ISPR statement.
“These statements are completely unfounded and are part of a coordinated misinformation campaign aimed at discrediting the firm efforts of security forces in ongoing contractorist operations.”
He said that a “comprehensive investigation began quickly” in response to accusations.
“It is evident that these elements, which act at the request of their Indian masters, continue to exploit the civil areas and vulnerable populations as shields to carry out their acts of rebuilt terrorism. Such tactics aim to sow without success between the local population and the security forces, which together remain resolved to the reduction of the threat of terrorism.”
In addition, he said that security forces reaffirmed “their commitment to ensure that the perpetrators of this inhuman act are taken before justice.”
Meanwhile, the protest against the alleged drone strike continued for the second day today.
Allama Iqbal Dawar, a protest organizer and local leader of PTI, said Dawn.com that the negotiations with the local administration were still ongoing after the first day and both parties had not yet reached an agreement.
The organizers said they would take the protest to Islamabad if their demands were not accepted.
The tribal elders also decided to visit villages in the area to seek support for the possible manifestation of Islamabad.
Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist activities during the past year, especially in KP and Baluchistan, TTP ended its fire with the government in November 2022.
On Monday, the ISPR said that 12 terrorists from the “Indian power” attire were killed by security forces, while two people were martyred in separate commitments in KP and Baluchistan.
Earlier this month, seven soldiers were martyred in an explosion of an improvised explosive device planted by the terrorist group of the “Indian power” Baluchistan Liberation Army in the Kacchi district.
Armed operations and air attacks have become a routine in the Northern Waziristan district in the midst of statements of residents that civilians are attacked in attacks.
Around several of these incidents, the local population and human rights organizations have argued that these operations lack transparency and are outside the limits of due legal process.
In March, at least 11 people were killed in Mardan in what the locals insisted that it was a drone strike, but the authorities said it was an operation carried out against militants. According to the locals, the deceased were civilians, including women and children, who worked as shepherds.
An alleged drone attack in the Konrai Raghzai area of the Alto Sur District of Waziristan killed a person and wounded another three in September last year. While local sources confirmed the drone attack, there was no official confirmation of the drone strike.
