Sean “Diddy” Defense team communicated with President Donald Trump in search of forgiveness after his conviction for crimes related to prostitution, a source close to the NBC News legal team said on Tuesday.
When asked about the pardons in an interview with Newsmax on Friday, Trump said: “They have talked about Sean” but they did not announce any decision.
The source close to the combs legal team confirmed that it has been in contact with the Trump administration.
A White House official said: “The White House will not comment on the existence or absence of any clemency application.”
Comink, a Magnate Musician and Hop, was sentenced last month for two positions of interstate prostitution and faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in October.
He was acquitted of the most serious federal positions, which alleged a conspiracy of extortion and sexual trafficking.
Comps was accused of five criminal positions, and declared herself innocent. He was accused of an extortion conspiracy charge, two positions of sex trafficking for fraud or coercion and two transport positions to participate in prostitution.
Federal prosecutors alleged that the combs sexually abused women and forced them “Fons offs” involving drugs.
The United States government accused Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, of taking advantage of his power, wealth and influence as head of a “criminal company” to sexually abuse and exploit women for their satisfaction for two decades.
A federal judge denied the attempted combs on Monday to be released on bail before the sentence, which means that it will be arrested until October.
In Friday’s interview with Newsmax, Trump was asked if he would consider forgiveness or clemency for combs.
It seemed to throw doubts that I would grant a forgiveness.
“You know, I was very friendly with him. I got along with him. And it seemed like a good guy, I didn’t know him well,” Trump said. “But when I postulated for a position, he was very hostile.”
“I don’t know,” Trump said. “I do more, I’m honest, it makes it more difficult to do.”
Then Trump was asked: “More probably a ‘no’ for combs?”
He replied: “I would say.”
In the interview, he was also asked about the possibility of forgiveness or clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, and former imprisoned representative George Santos, RN.Y.
