Sahiwal PTI activist held over posts against COAS, state organs – Pakistan

SAHIWAL: A youth activist of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) was reserved and arrested under the Law of Prevention of Electronic Crimes-2016 (PECA) for allegedly publishing “shameful and illegal comments” on state security institutions and the head of the Army personnel (COA) on the popular social media platform.

The suspect, identified as Iftikhahar Ahmed, son of Muhammad Bota, a permanent resident of village 73/4-R, Tehsil Sahiwal, was nominated in the first information report under sections 189 and 500 of the Pakistan Criminal Code (PPC) and sections 18 and 20 of the 2016 pec AFZAL.

According to reports, Iftikhar Ahmed published seven offensive publications of his Facebook account (@Ranaiffimadni aimed at the security institutions of the Head of the Army and the State. These publications were made on several dates: on February 25 and March 12, 14, 19, 22 and 25, 2025.

The FIR states if AFZAL found publications on social networks during their mobile duty at Humber Mor, Noor Shah. The positions were also corroborated by agents Ali Raza and Abdur Rouf, as well as the driver Rashid on March 28.

Subsequently, the case was transferred to Inspector Shahid Nazir, District Research Branch (DIB), Line Civil Police Station, Sahiwal.

Nazir, speaking with SunriseHe confirmed that the suspect was arrested on Saturday night and is currently in police custody. The local sources of the village said Iftikhar works as a seller to make a living.

HASH: Saddar and Chak Badian police, Pakpattan, arrested two drug traffickers, including a woman and recovered 13 kg of hashish in two separate raids on the eve of EID.

Chak Badian police on a warning stopped a car near the town of Ama Singh, but the driver of the car accelerated the speed.

Later, the driver identified as Nadeem stopped the car and hid in the fields. Police recorded and arrested Nadeem with 10 kg of hashish.

Police said Nadeem was involved in a gang between drug smuggling districts.

In another incident, a lady Farwa Mustafa followed a notice and then looked for a buyer. Police found 3 kg of hashish in three packages.

The woman was identified as Musrat, resident of Faridnagar. Police reserved both traffickers under section 9 (1) 3C, the Narcotics Control Law of substance 1999.

Certifications for police officers were announced.
