Russian attack on Ukraine’s Kharkiv kills four, wounds 60 – World

Russia attacked the city of Jharkiv in eastern Kharkiv at night and at night with drones, missiles and guided bombs, killing at least four people and hurting more than 60, including a baby, local officials said Saturday.

Kharkiv, one of the largest cities in Ukraine, is only a few dozen kilometers from the Russian border and has been under constant Russian bombing for more than three years of war.

The governor of Kharkiv, Oleh Syniehubov, said that one of the city’s civil industrial facilities was attacked by 40 drones, a missile and four bombs, causing a fire, and added that there may still be people under the rubble.

At night, Russian airplanes once again attacked Kharkiv with guided bombs, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called “another brutal murder.”

“It was a brutal blow to the city in broad daylight, and in fact, they have been attacking our city of Jharkiv throughout the day,” Zelenskiy said in his afternoon statement.

“Last night, there was a massive drone attack in Jharkiv, and now there are aerial bombs. Dozens of people have been injured in the last 24 hours,” he said.

The Ukrainian army said that Russia launched 206 drones, 2 ballistic and another 7 missiles against Ukraine during the night.

He said that his air defense units demolished 87 drones, while another 80 drones were lost, in reference to the Ukrainian army using electronic warfare to redirect them, or were drone simulators that did not carry eyebrows.
