“The rest will remain part of our sunk inheritance,” he said speaking with the media.
“The artifacts that are seen date back to successive periods, starting from the Ptolemaic era,” said Mohamed Ismail, general secretary of the Supreme Council of Antiques of Egypt. The Ptolemaic era lasted almost 300 years and was followed by the Roman domain, which lasted about 600 years.
