The suspect who opened fire in Minneapolis in a Catholic school during the Mass has been identified by officials as a 20 -year -old who left videos in line with writings that referred to suicide.
Multiple senior officials in charge of enforcing the law reported on the matter told NBC News that the person responsible for Wednesday’s shooting is Robin Westman.
Westman died of a self -inflicted gunshot wound after shooting a rifle through the side windows of the Church of the Annunciation Catholic School, pointing to children who were sitting in the banks, authorities said.
Two children are dead, aged 8 and 10, and another 17, including 14 children, were injured in the mass shooting, authorities said.
Police have said publicly that the suspect has limited criminal records and is just over 20 years old. Name changed paperwork for the suspect, who used to go with a different name, shows that they were 23 years old.
NBC News has confirmed that the officials responsible for enforcing the law reported on the matter that the suspect left videos published in line with writings that refer to suicide, “extremely violent thoughts and ideas”, an apology to his family and a hand -written sketch of the interior design of a church. It is not clear if that church was that of the Annunciation Catholic School.
The city of Minneapolis said there is no active threat at this time.
