Robert Miller, the Montreal billionaire accused of multiple sexual crimes, is too sick to be tried, the Judge of the Superior Court of Quebec, Lyne Decarie, ruled on Tuesday.
Miller’s crown and defense team had recommended a suspension of procedures due to their health deterioration.
An expert in Parkinson’s disease, Dr. Pierre Blanchet, had previously testified that the 81 -year -old man was experiencing cognitive impairment.
Miller had not previously appeared in court, but on Monday he appeared on video conference.
Miller faced 24 positions related to sexual crimes involving 11 women, most of whom were minors at the time of alleged crimes. He declared himself innocent and has denied the accusations against him.
