Brett Lauther connected in the five field goal attempts to boost the Saskatchewan Roughriders to a 21-13 victory over Blue Winnipeg bombers on Saturday’s Bowl banjo.
Lauther, who entered the game only by doing 65.7 percent of his field goal attempts (23 of 35), was good in kicks of 20, 35 (twice), 41 and 33 yards. A convert was lost.
The victory raised the leading record of the Roughriders to 10-2, the first time they reached the 10-winning mark since 2019 when they finished 13-5 and lost the final of the West Division against Winnipeg.
The Blue Bombers (6-6) had an advantage of 13-6 in the part-time, but their fortune turned with an injury to the seafood of Field Holder Zach Collaros.
Necklaws left the game with 5:28 remaining in the third quarter after being fired by Saskatchewan’s defensive, CJ Reavis and playing the ball.
Collaros did not get up for a few minutes, but jogged the locker room for cheers of the eleventh consecutive crowd sold 32,343 at the Princess Auto stadium.
Winnipeg successfully challenged the play for mistreating the pin and the billing was annihilated.
Collaros had completed nine of 15 pass attempts for 165 yards with two interceptions and a touchdown. It was replaced by Chris Steleveler, which had 5 of 9 passes for 39 yards and two selections.
Trevor Harris was 18 of 31 for 239 yards with an interception for Saskatchewan.
The Aj Ouellette corridor had 11 haules for 50 yards and the lonely five -yard touchdown race of the runners.
The Winnipeg corridor, Brady Oliveira, who was held at 24 yards in five haunts in the victory of the Saskatchewan’s work classic last weekend, ran 20 times for 83 yards and had two trapped for 19 yards.
Ontaria Wilson, the most prominent rookie of the Blue Bombers last season, led all the receivers with five receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown of capture and 24 -yard race in their debut in the season.
The slotback signed a contract until 2026 on Monday after being resigned by the New York Jets of the NFL last month.
The Pumpers Pumps Sergio Castillo connected in field goals of 39 and 34 yards, but lost between 48 and 51. It was good in a single convert.
Winnipeg led 3-0 after the first quarter, 13-6 in the half-time and 13-12 in the last quarter.
Defensive bombers Redha Kramdi helped establish the first points of the game when he intercepted Harris and Winnipeg took over in their own 32 -yard line. After a six games trip that included a capture of 29 yards from Wilson, Castillo exceeded 39 yards at 12:07.
Saskatchewan responded with the Lauther 20 yards at 1:25 of the second, but Wilson registered his TD after taking a collar pass and defeating the defenders through the goal line at 5:06 to give Winnipeg a 10-3 advantage.
A 45 -yard capture from NIC Demski and a 11 -yard collar race kept alive an impulse that ended with the 34 -yards of Castillo with 3:09 remaining in the middle.
Under more pressure, Collaros launched a pass that was intercepted by defensive cyclists Marcus Sayles with remaining 21 seconds. The billing led to a 35 -yard Lauther country goal as time expired.
The second possession of Saskatchewan of the third quarter came from the interception of necklaces by Damarcus fields. The Roughriders took over the Winnipeg 27 yards line and used the turnover for Ouellette TD at 8:11.
After Collaros left the game, Castillo lost an attempt at 51 -yard field.
Saskatchewan opened the last quarter with the 41 yardas field of Lauther to take a 15-13 advantage.
Castillo lost an attempted 48 -yards field goal, but Saskatchewan ran to the line of a yard. Harris quickly took his problem with a 48 -yard competition to Joe Robusttelli.
Then the bombers for pass interference was called, moving the Roughriders to the Winnipeg 28 yards line. Lauther crowned the trip with a 33-yard field goal and 18-13 advantage at 8:41.
Streveler was intercepted with less than three minutes to play.
