The Junior male swimmers of Pakistan crossed the national record books when Rayan Awan and Azlan Sohail established new grades in the World Junior Swimming Championship in Romania, which concluded on Sunday.
Rayan registered 30.87 in the stroke of 50 m male to crush the previous record of 30.98 established by Abdul Aziz Chaudhry 17 years ago. To put it in perspective, the registration was established before Rayan was even born. It finished 58 of 86 swimmers in the stroke sprint.
Azlan can call himself safely as King Junior Medley after crushing national records under 16 in the individual popurri of 200 my 400 m.
He swam a 2.18 in the 200M IM to delete the previous record of 2: 20.22 established by Ahmed Durrani, who represented Pakistan at the Olympic Games of Paris 2024 last year. Azlan finished 47 of 73 swimmers in the heats.
Azlan then was 4: 54.68 in the IM of 400m to crush the record of the age group of 4: 57.86 established by Amaan Siddiqui in 2022.
The 16 -year -old had a gigantic line of 10 events ranging from Sprints to mid -distance, but delivered in each race. He registered 26.72 on the 50 m butterfly to finish 80º of 116 swimmers.

The duo, together with Hareem Malik and Meher Maqbool, established a new national record of 04: 10.45 in the 4x100m mixed freestyle, according to official data published by World Aquatics.
Azlan swam at 1: 00.10 in the butterfly of 100 my 2: 24.10 in the 200m butterfly to finish 73 and 45 respectively. He recorded at 4: 21.61 in the 400 m freestyle on the opening day of the competition of a week.
Ali swam a 25.06 in the freestyle of 50 m to finish 81º of 119 swimmers and a 27.38 in the back blow of 50 m: 27.38 to place 43º of 87 swimmers.
The 18 -year -old swam a 1: 01.19 in the 100 -meter back blow, where he won the national title last year in 1: 02.06, to finish 52º, while compatriot Mohid Sadiq Lone placed 71 and recorded a 1: 04.43.

On the women’s side, Hareem Malik has been dominating the stroke and swam a 36.12 at the 50 m event, where he has a national record established in the Junior National Championship last year.
He swam a 33.70 on the 50 m butterfly to finish 99º, while Fatima Salman, the youngest swimmer on the team at only 14 years of age, recorded 35.52. They also headed face to face in the freestyle of 50 my was once again Hareem who came to the top with a 30.71, while Fatima finished with a 32.68.
Fatima was 1: 19.93 in the butterfly of 100 my a 2: 55.91 in the 200m IM.
Meher Maqbool recorded 1: 10.03 and 2: 28.44 in the freestyle of 100 my 200 m respectively. She swam a 35.69 in the 50 my back blow ended just behind Raaqiah Aqeel with a 35.30.
