Rawalpindi CEO fined for misusing CCTV cameras – Newspaper

Islamabad: The federal people for the protection against harassment (FOSPAH) have declared that the constant CCTV surveillance of employees is equivalent to harassment in the workplace.

When announcing the decision, the people of the Fauzia Viquar people also imposed a fine of RS50,000 at the head of a private education institution to misuse CCTV and harass an official woman.

The decision arose in the case of a subordinate employee in the institution in Rawalpindi against its executive director, where the plaintiff claimed that she was submitted to excessive surveillance and intimidation.

After reviewing the evidence, the people of the town discovered that the defendant had been involved in unjustified and directed monitoring, including the sending of CCTV screen captures to the plaintiff, which created a hostile and distressing work environment.

The people of the people declared that this behavior was harassment under the law and ordered the payment of RS50,000 in compensation to the victim and a fine of censorship against the CEO.

The people of the town also directed mandatory reforms in the workplace, including the formation of a research committee and the public exhibition of the Code of Conduct in the workplace in English and Urdu.

The ruling emphasizes that harassment is not limited to unwanted advances, but includes any behavior that violates dignity, privacy or creates fear and intimidation at work.

“This case is a reminder that surveillance cannot be misused to control, point or intimidate employees.

Privacy and dignity are fundamental rights in the workplace, “said the town’s office office.
