The person who calls, identified as Rinku, 29, is fulfilling a life imprisonment under the Pocso law. He warned: “I will kill him before midnight.” The two calls made within a period of 10 minutes after midnight on Saturday expressed concerns about prison security and unauthorized use of mobile phones by inmates.
A FIR was recorded in Jaipur. “Our teams recorded the jail and put Rinku in custody. A mobile cheap keyboard phone was seized with a SIM card, suspected of having been used to make the calls, was seized,” said Dausa Asp Guru Sharan.
The last security violation follows a similar call made from Dausa prison on July 27 last year. That case led to the suspension of three prison officials and caused a search by police and prison authorities in state prisons. Multiple mobile phones of inmates were seized.
In January 2024, a prisoner from the Central Jail of Jaipur had also issued a threat to CM.
Rinku was sentenced in January 2020 for sexually kidnapping and sexually assaulting crimes such as murder and violation. .
The fact that such calls continue to originate in high security prisons has caused a strong response from the state government. Home Jawahar Minister of State Singh Bedam said a high -level investigation has been launched.
The authorities are investigating how Rinku managed to get the mobile phone. “If an officer or member of the prison staff is responsible, strict measures will be taken against them,” said Dig Monika Agawal.
According to Agarwal, prisoner Rinku was disturbed due to conflicts with prison staff. “He says he made the call to get the attention of senior officials,” he said.
