A resident of BC says he obtained the show of a lifetime when an ocas pod approached him and a group of friends in the waters of Howe Sound, just north of Vancouver, in a video captured in video.
Joshua Lepin says that he and his friends were in boats and inflatables on Saturday afternoon and had been floating on Gambier island for a couple of hours, when the six or seven orc capsule swam directly towards them.
He says the swimmers came out of the water when the whales “made a great show.”
The videos captured by Lepin show the Orcas slapped their fins and tails on the water, while the minors in the group can be seen stoards out of the water.
Lepin says that he and his friends obtained a “front row seat” in the 10 -minute match that says it was “something you would see in Seaworld.”
The fishing department says that navigators must remain 400 meters from Orcas in Howe Sound, but if a whale is put inside that distance, the boat should be kept out of equipment until it has passed.
Lepin says he believes that the orcs only approached as as they did because the boat engines were already out.
