The mayor of Louiseville, who., Yvon Deshaies, has pledged to stop making statements about Donald Trump after landing in hot water this week about his support for the president of the United States.
In a video posted on the Facebook page of the city of Louiseville on Wednesday, the mayor said his residents are his priority.

In his video address on Wednesday, the mayor acknowledged that some of his recent statements “have caused a reaction.”
“Today I want to be clear: from now on, I will not comment on the US president … I am against any tariff or decision that can damage the economy of Louiseville,” he said.
The mayor’s address occurs days after Meuble Canadel, a family furniture business based in Louiseville, said he was considering withdrawing a contribution of $ 150,000 for the city’s Boulodrome project.
