PWHL Vancouver has taken a dip in the free agency, signing three of the main strikers available in the market.
Hannah Miller, native to North Vancouver (three years), the two -time champion of the Walter Michela Cava Cup (two years) and Tereza Vanišová (two years) by Ottawa Charge (two years), all the agreements signed with the expansion team in the first 24 hours of free agency.
After an expansion process that saw GM from Vancouver face Gardner to focus on building the equipment from the network, the three signings give Vancouver offensive and more two -way skill above. Vancouver resembles one of the best teams in the League next season, at least on paper.
Miller will meet with former Toronto teammate Sarah NurSe in Vancouver. She accumulated 24 points in 29 games with Toronto before a seasonal end lesion seems to stop her score pace.
Miller is a defensively responsible striker who can play anywhere in the alignment, from the power game to the penalty. Only Toronto’s teammate, Renata Fast, had more power game assists last season than Miller.
“Hannah is an elite striker who can put points and wear opponents,” said Gardner Morey.
The contract takes Miller to Columbia Britanic after stops in China, Europe and Toronto.
“It means a lot to me to represent the city where I fell in love with the first time,” Miller said. “It’s a real moment in a complete circle, and I can’t wait to meet all fans and start.”
A proven winner
Cava spent the last two seasons in the upper line of Minnesota Frost along with Kendall Ceyne Schofield and Taylor Heise.
Surprisingly, Cava has won five consecutive titles in four different leagues. In addition to Walter Cups consecutive with Minnesota, he won championships with Toronto Six of the Premier Hockey Federation in 2023, the Krs Vanke Rays in the Zhhl in Russia in 2022 and Luleå in the Swedish Women Hockey League in 2021.
Now, the 31 -year -old girl from Thunder Bay will try to win with a new team on the west coast, without Heise in her line.
“Michela has a tremendous vision, and her elite game will help our offensive,” said Gardner Morey.
Vanišová tied Hilary Knight of Boston with 15 goals in 30 regular seasonal games, just following Marie-Philip Poulin de Montreal.
Beyond his ability with the album, Vanišová is difficult to play. That helped feed Ottawa to a place in the playoffs, even if he was not sometimes indisciplined. Vanišová led the league in minutes of regular seasonal penalty.
In Vancouver, Vanišová could get into the upper line next to Sarah Nurse or play in a second sandy line.
In the expansion draft, Gardner Morey, together with the Scout Head Kathy Pippy, and the expert at the Alex Giménez salary cover, selected the young people, bidirectional strikers with an offensive touch.
They went to 2024 Draft teams that exceeded expectations last season, including Izzy Daniel de Toronto and Brooke McCquigge from Minnesota, and that were probably in smaller contracts.
That left the salary space to aim the six strikers among the top six in the free agency. Upon entering the signature window, Gardner Morey wanted to add two more front of the top-seis. Until now, she has done that and more.
Toronto signed again Ladle, Buys for 2 years
In another part of the League, the Toronto Sceptres signed 2024 again MVP Natalie Ladle and Jesse striker Buys to two -year offers.
Ladle A part of last season was lost when he recovered from knee surgery, and still seemed to be up to date until the second half of the season.
Look | Was PWHL expansion draft too far?
Karissa Donkin of CBC Sports explains how the two newest teams in the League, Seattle and Vancouver, have ready ready to win immediately.
When she is healthy Ladle He is one of the best power strikers in the league and a force to take into account in front of the network. In 2024, Ladle surpassed the PWHL With 27 points in 24 games, including 20 goals. In addition to MVPHe was voted for the year.
“Natalie has been an important piece for our puzzle in Toronto”, Toronto Gm Gina Kingsbury saying.
“She is a key member of our organization both on and off the ice. It is a world -class athlete who has shown how shocking She can be in this league. With its determination and ethics of work, we know that Natalie will return to the third season ready to help our team succeed. “
Buys I found his step in his second professional season. The 25 -year -old got a place in the Red Vivo de Toronto power game, where she produced three of her goals last season. It ended with 18 points in 30 games.
Toronto also signed one year agreements with striker Claire Dalton and goalkeeper Elaine Chuli, who played for the Victire of Montreal last season.
Adding Chuli suggests that Toronto might want to move forward with a Chuli tandem and Raygan Kirk. But that will require finding a commercial partner for Kristen Campbell, who has a season left with the steals and had problems last season.
“Elaine brings consistency to our team,” Kingsbury said. “A goalkeeper tested in the league brings many features that we value both inside and outside the ice. We are also excited to have signed Claire Dalton, who brings size, a great shot and a high roof.”
Meanwhile, Montreal Victoire signed its main defender in the market again. Kati Tabin spent most of the last season with Erin Ambrose, and bringing her back was crucial after Montreal lost two main defenders for expansion.
“Kati is an invaluable part of our team, both on ice and in the costumes,” said Victoire Danièle Sauvageau general manager.
“In the last two seasons, we have seen tremendous growth in her game, and she continues to raise her game every year. Her ability to contribute at both ends of the track makes her a key piece of our alignment, and we are delighted to recover it.”

They will come more for Montreal on the blue line. Only three defenders are officially signed for the next season: Tabin, Ambrose and Amanda Boulier.
The victore also signed striker Shiann Darkangelo from Ottawa Charge, which will give the team some of the central depth that was missing last season. Darkangelo had a year of offensive breakup, scoring 17 points in 29 games. She has signed with Montreal for two seasons.
The Boston fleet also announced a one -year contract extension for its third leading scorer last season, Susanna cover, on Tuesday. Bringing Tapani back to Boston was a priority for the fleet, especially after the team lost both Hannah Bilka and Hilary Knight to Seattle expanding.
“Susanna is a highly productive two -way center that constantly impacts every time the ice touches,” said Boston’s general manager Danielle Marmer. “Its speed, ability to possess and end up distinguishing it from being one of the best players in this league.”
The PWHL free agent firm window is open until June 27 at 2 pm et. It will open on July 8 at 9 am et.
The league entrance draft is scheduled for June 24 in Ottawa.
