Punjab schools to stay open tomorrow for Youm-i-Takbeer celebrations – Pakistan

The Punjab government has announced that schools will remain open throughout the province tomorrow while the nation observes YOM-E-TAKBEER and organize special programs to celebrate the occasion.

Yom-i-Takbeer is observed on May 28, marking the historic day when Pakistan became an atomic power.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last year declared a holiday throughout the country because of Yoerm-i-Takbeer, the day Pakistan’s defense became unjustable after performing nuclear tests in the hills of Chagai, Baluchistan in 1998.

The School Education Department has sent a letter to all district education authorities.

He declared that educational institutions will remain open and celebrate special programs to celebrate the day with a “positive social message for peace and courage.”

The letter added that May 28 is a “significant day that marks a milestone in the history of our nation, symbolizing strength, resistance and technological advance.”

He said that all schools will carry out activities, including special programs of the Morning Assembly, National Anthem and Prayers, and will pay tribute to the Pakistan Army.

All schools will hold speech competitions on the issue of “importance of Yoerm-i-Takbeer”, “Pakistan’s trip to become a nuclear energy” and “National Security and Patriotism.” They will also organize arts and posters, as well as national song competitions.

The competitions will be carried out at the district level in all Punjab public schools. The main winner of each category at the district level will receive a prize of RS50,000.

The department has urged all schools to participate in these activities and competitions to celebrate the day.

“Students and staff will promise to work for the improvement, peace and scientific progress of Pakistan,” he added.

At the end of the ceremony, summer vacations will be declared.
