Punjab police arrested three suspects on Monday for allegedly violating a woman in Lahore, according to a police statement.
“The suspects were arrested within 2 hours after they were reported,” said Punjab Police statement, adding that three were arrested while the raids were underway to stop the fourth suspect.
Deputy General Inspector of Police Operations (DIG) Faisal Kamran is personally supervising all the procedures in the case, added the statement.
A case was recorded against the suspects under section 375a (gang violation) of the Pakistan Criminal Code, at the Chung Police Station, according to the statement.
“One of the suspects called the victim to Lahore from Sahiwal and made her stay at her relatives’ house,” said the statement citing Dig Kamran. “According to the initial investigation, the suspects assaulted the victim for two consecutive days,” said Dig Kamran.
The victim receives full legal and medical assistance, added the excavation. “The suspects involved in atrocious crime will be taken before justice.”
Despite the presence of laws against violation, with punishment for violation, whether it results in the death penalty or imprisonment between 10 and 25 years, cases continue to prevail in the country.
Last week, the Police arrested two young people for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 14 -year -old girl in Bahawalnagar.
In January, a female student from a private university in Lahore was supposedly raped in a group by three suspects in an apartment in a private housing society located in Raiwind Road.
The Women’s Police Station of Hipódromo presented a case, payrolling the three suspects.
