Punjab govt bans temporary mechanical rides on eve of Eidul Azha – Pakistan

The Punjab Interior Department has banned the temporary mechanical travel operation installed during vacations, fairs, festivals and other seasonal Eidul Azha events for a short period of time in any location of the province, according to a notification issued on Sunday.

In the past, several accidents have been reported due to mechanical trips of malfunction and fall, resulting in the loss of lives, including children and injuries to several other runners. Such incidents were informed in amusement and aquatic parks in different cities, including LaHore and fine, in the province.

Mechanical driving accidents are generally reported during EID holidays or Christmas holidays, since more families visit amusement parks with their children to enjoy trips.

A notification issued today by the Interior Department of Punjab said that temporary mechanical trips are generally configured or installed during the holidays, fairs, festivals and other seasonal Eidul Azha events, it will not be allowed to operate anywhere in Punjab on the eve of Eidul Azha 2025. “

However, mechanical trips permanently installed in different amusement parks, thematic parks and game areas “may operate, subject to the provision of a physical aptitude certificate by the owners/operators of mechanical travel.”

Operators must verify their respective attached commissioners “that each trip has suffered the necessary security inspections and meets all regulatory standards for public safety/ protection.”

A similar prohibition was imposed during Eidul Fitr holidays earlier this year.

Eidul Azha will be observed on Saturday, June 7. The announcement was made by Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, president of the Committee, after a meeting held in Islamabad to evaluate the reports of the Moon View.
