A car falls from a first-floor car park in Pune; no injuries were reported

NEW DELHI: A car fell from the first floor parking lot of Shubh Gateway Apartment in Viman Nagar, Pune, on Sunday morning, leaving onlookers in a state of shock.
CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking debates over security measures in residential complexes.

The incident occurred around 10am when the driver accidentally put the car into reverse gear instead of going forward. The vehicle went through the parking lot wall and crashed to the ground.
Despite the alarming images and the strong crash, no one was seriously injured in the accident.
Footage shows the wall of the parking structure breaking under the weight of the vehicle, raising questions about the apartment complex’s construction quality and safety standards.
Many social media users expressed concern about the wall’s apparent inability to withstand these types of accidents, and called for stricter regulations and better design of parking facilities. While some users speculated that the driver was using his cell phone as a cause of the accident.
After the accident, neighbors and passersby came to the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported and the material damage was limited to the collapsed wall and the affected vehicle.
The viral video has sparked a debate over the need to improve safety features in multi-level parking lots, especially in residential buildings.
