Former Foreign Minister and PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi, was transferred from the Kot Lakhpat prison in Lahore to the Punjab Cardiology Institute (PIC) on Saturday after suffering heart pain, according to his lawyer.
Qureshi was accused in July 2024 by an anti -terrorism court in a case related to the disturbances of May 9. The Shadman Police had registered a case against PTI leaders, including Qureshi, and activists for charges of attacking and burning the police station.
The same month was transferred from Adial prison in Rawalpindi to Kot Lakpat on police request. He had declared that the frequent transport of the PTI leader from Rawalpindi to Lahore was not feasible for the authorities, as well as for the defendants.
Talking with Dawn.com Today, the lawyer Mudassar, Qureshi’s lawyer, said that her client suffered early heart pain in the morning, after Fajr’s sentences. He underwent a medical evaluation of prison doctors.
“He was transferred to the photo by the 1122 rescue after his health could not improve,” Mudassar said, added that Qureshi was currently experiencing several tests in the hospital.
The family of the PTI leader had been informed about his condition, added the lawyer.
