PTI terminates basic party membership of 11 GB lawmakers, including CM Gulbar Khan – Pakistan

The PTI has finished the membership of the basic party of 11 legislators of the Gilgit-Baltistan assembly, including Prime Minister Gulbar Khan, saying that they made a block forward and voted against the decision of the party, arose on Sunday.

“The reason for its termination is its actions in the GB Assembly, especially making a blockade to the vote and vote against the decision of the party, which is a clear violation of the policy of our party. Their actions have caused damage to the interests and reputation of the party,” the notices are read.

Legislators were also asked not to use the “name, designation and/or membership of the party in any way or some, not what the party reserves to take measures against them, which can also lead to legal actions.”

In addition, the PTI also issued a warning of the cause of presentation to the former governor of GB Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon.

“In view of these reported activities, you are called to explain in writing within two days after this notice. If your answer is not satisfactory or does not respond, additional measures will be taken according to the policy and the rules of the part,” he added.

Gulbar Khan, a discontent member of the PTI who led an advanced block in the party, had replaced Khalid Khurshy of the party as the GB main minister in July 2023, after the latter was disqualified by the GB Chief Court for obtaining a license from the GB Bar Association of the GB bar that allegedly based on a false education title.

His disqualification had taken several PTI legislators to change side and, ultimately, a coalition government, which includes PTI’s unhappy members and PML-N and PPP legislators, formed in the region, with Gulbar Khan as CM.
