Islamabad: The PTI pressed on Wednesday to the interim president of the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC) to accelerate the hearings on the requests that seek the suspension of the sentences granted to the founder of the Imran Khan party and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the case of corruption of £ 190 million.
In statements to the media outside the IHC, the president of the PTI, the lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, also reiterated the support of the party to the Armed Forces, emphasizing that Islamabad had achieved an important diplomatic and moral victory against high tensions with New Delhi.
On the occasion, dozens of PTI workers and members of the Assembly had met in Constitución Avenue, organizing a protest and demanding the release of Imran Khan. Mr. Gohar – Accompanied by Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Barríster Ali Zafar, Latif Khosa, Shibli Faraz, Aliya Hamza and others, asked that the end of what he called the unfair imprisonment of the founder of PTI.
PTI’s leadership ended his protest after the arrival of Aleema Khan, promising to return next week when the audience is expected to be scheduled.
According to the lawyer of the party, Shoaib Shaheen, the president of the Supreme Court acting had assured them that the case would be scheduled next week.
Meanwhile, the investigation team arrived at Adiala prison from Lahore to perform an Imran Khan polygraph test in relation to nine cases registered against him on May 9, 2023. However, he refused to submit to the evidence, citing a constitutional provision under which he cannot see to testify.
