The president of the PTI, the lawyer Gohaha Ali Khan, resigned on Thursday to four permanent committees in the National Assembly (NA), confirmed in comments to Dawn.com.
PTI legislators have begun to renounce the membership and presidency of all the permanent committees in the NA after the instructions of the founder of the Imran Khan party, after the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP) in July already August already disqualified a large number of members and leaders of PTI in relation to their participation in May 9, 2023 Riotes against Imran.
“I resigned from the committees based on the instructions of the founder of PTI and the political committee,” Gohar said on the phone. “I presented my resignation to the president’s office and resigned from the Law and Justice Committees, Human Rights, IT and the Chamber Business Advisory Committee.”
The PTI chief, Whip Aamir Dogar, also announced his resignation to the permanent committees of NA in an X position, where he wrote that he presented the resignations on the instructions of the party’s founder and ex-private.
“I am a real soldier of Imran Khan, and no position has more meaning than my leader,” he wrote. “The only purpose of my policy is the mission of Imran Khan, the true independence and service of Pakistan for people.”
He attached a photo of his renunciation letter with the X Post, which described that he resigned from the permanent committees of NA on religious matters and interreligious harmony, the Public Accounts Committee, Energy (Energy Division) and the Committee of Procedure Rules and Privileges.
Meanwhile, the general director of NA (media) Zafar Sultan Khan confirmed Dawn.com That 18 PTI members, including Gohar, resigned from the permanent committees.
“The lawyer Gohar presented the resignations of 18 members of PTI, including himself, of the permanent committees,” he said in a voice note, added that PTI members are part of 34 permanent committees in the Chamber.

Yesterday, DG Sultan told him Dawn.com that Ali Asghar Khan and Faisal Amin had sent their resignations as members of the Permanent Committee to the president of Na Ayaz Sadiq.
A declaration of Dogar also said: “The members of the PTI of the National Assembly have begun to act on the instructions of the founding president Imran Khan. PTI members of the permanent committees have begun to send their resignations. Many members have presented their resignations to the Secretariat of the National Assembly.”
However, a senior official in the Secretariat, on condition of anonymity, said the speaker had not yet received any of the renunciation letters.
The resignation announcement took place after a meeting of the PTI Political Committee that ended at 3:30 am Wednesday, according to PTI Mna Sanoullah Khan Mastikhel.
