PTI officials announced on Monday that the party will launch a “movement throughout the country” and urged the members of the party to prepare, although a date was not announced.
The founder of the party and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been imprisoned in the Adiala prison of Rawalpindi for more than two years after his conviction in four cases: two references of Toshakhana, the case of encryption and the IDDAT case, in which his wife, Bushra Bibi, is also imprisoned.
Since then, the party has launched several mass protests that demand its release, especially a march to Islamabad on November 26, 2024, where a day of battles launched between the security forces and the PTI protesters ended up in a hurried retreat of leadership and supporters of the Red Zone Party.
In a publication about X, the Senator of PTI Ali Zafar wrote that the party would mobilize throughout the country after having a six -hour discussion with the former private today.
“Some very important issues were discussed. Among them there was a movement throughout the country for which the party must prepare and be well organized,” the senator wrote.
Zafar warned that, according to Imran, “there is no room for anyone in PTI to play on both sides, and everyone must be united by the cause of truth and justice.”
Citing Imran, Zafar wrote: “I am having all the difficulties in jail for the good of the nation, and PTI’s leadership should not be afraid of sacrifice.”
He did not give a date for when this movement will be carried out.
Meanwhile, Imran’s sister, Aleema Khanum, also spoke with journalists outside the Adiala prison about mass mobilization, although she also did not give a date for when the movement would occur.
“Imran Khan issued instructions to prepare the party,” said Aleema. “He said ‘I will not call anyone to Islamabad, since they (the authorities) sit with sniper rifles and people are shot … I will give me great pain, I will not do this.’
“Imran Khan has said that the party should be prepared, since it will soon announce a mass movement in Pakistan,” he added.
